jeff Frohman / Owner

Jeff Frohman joined the  Murphy's Music team back in 1991. After several years he became the store manager putting a great deal of time and energy into improving the stores customer appeal.   


Greg began his career in music at the age of 10, when he first picked up the cello. From there, he completed his first recording session at the age of 14 on mandolin, bass, and guitar, and started professionally gigging on the age of 15. Greg attended the Berklee College of Music for composition and also privately studied with Ron Carter and Charlie Haden concentrating on jazz bass. In addition to teaching, Greg regularly performs all around Long Island and the greater New York area. 



Caroline Latman is a recent graduate of SUNY Fredonia's School of Music, where she completed a duel major in Music Education and Viola Performance. While at Fredonia, Caroline was an active member of the College Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Opera Pit Orchestra, countless chamber ensembles, and also put on two solo recitals. Caroline has been primarily studying viola for fifteen years and has also been extensively trained in violin, cello, bass, and piano. She has experience teaching both children and adult students. Caroline is excited to continue her teaching career as she pursues a master's degree in Viola Performance at SUNY Purchase's Conservatory of Music.


james erickson / guitar

James Erickson has an active career teaching classical and rock guitar throughout the New York metropolitan area. James is an instructor of music at Nassau Community College, LIU Post, and Suffolk County Community College. James holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in music history and performance from Long Island University, where he was awarded “Outstanding Performance in Guitar Studies”. As a classical guitar soloist, James has performed on tour in the United States, Europe, and Canada. As an electric guitarist, his studies have included lessons from jazz guitarist Howard Morgen and rock virtuoso Paul Gilbert. James has an extensive recording and performing experience, and is currently involved in many diverse musical projects. He is also the assistant director of the Long Island Guitar Festival, an annual festival that presents master classes, concerts and workshops by the world's most outstanding guitarists and teachers.

Jonathan zuzio / guitar, piano, & bass

Jonathan Zuzio earned his BA in Music Education from Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College with a concentration in guitar and music theory.  He formerly worked as the choir director and AP Music Theory coordinator at Baldwin Senior High School and has taught both publicly and privately for over a decade throughout New York.  In addition to teaching, Jonathan plays guitar in wedding and event bands.  



Sam Stevens is a Music Education Major at Five Towns College. She began studying music at the age of eight and continued to go on and gain a working knowledge of every instrument she could get her hands on. On top of being a vocalist, she also plays piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, trumpet, violin, and accordion along with many others. Sam plans on continuing on to a masters degree in composition.
